Work Hardening Alloys

Work hardening weld metals have a relatively low as-welded hardness, however they rapidly harden subjected to mechanical loads such as impacts. The MN range of consumables are open arc, self shielding and are thus suitable for remote, on site work as well as for workshop use.
 
MN21
.. a 14% manganese deposit that rapidly work hardens under impacts and cold working. MN21 is generally used for the reclamation and surfacing of Hadfield steels, plant for moving heavy aggregates/quarry stone and crusher cones.

MN33
..a 14% manganese, 14% chromium weld deposit that work hardens under impacts and cold working. MN33 is used for building up and repairing Hadfield and carbon steels, or is welded as a buffer layer prior to the deposition of a more abrasion resistant material. The weld metal has some stainless properties making it ideal in damp environments. It is suitable for rails, points, hammers, crushers and earth moving equipment.
