Chrome Carbides Alloys (ref: 049)

Chrome carbide (CC) deposits are used where abrasion is the primary wear factor. Deposit thickness is usually limited to 2 or 3 layers.

All the CC wires are open arc and self-shielded, making them equally suitable for remote, on-site work as well as for use in a workshop. When the surface finish is important CC wires can be used in a submerged arc configuration in conjunction with WeldcladTM Universal Flux.

CC108
...a martensitic chromium-iron deposit, suitable for conditions of high abrasion, but will still withstand a reasonable amount of impact damage, e.g. Earth moving equipment, scraper blades, chutes. CC108 represents an economic alternative to a chrome carbide welding consumable.

CC522
...a chrome carbide deposit with a good balance of impact and abrasion resistance. A maximum thickness of 8mm should be deposited, usually in 2 or 3 layers. The weld metal will crack readily. Suitable applications include earth moving equipment, sinter plants, cement works, augers, crusher hammers and mixer blades.

CC527
...a chrome carbide weld metal with an excellent resistance to abrasion and low resistance to impacts. A maximum thickness of 8mm should be deposited, normally in 2 layers. The weld metal will crack readily. Some typical applications have included wear plate production, earth moving equipment, crushers, scraper blades and conveyor screws.

CC31
...a chrome carbide weld metal with an excellent resistance to abrasion. The deposit also provides excellent protection in a single layer deposit. A maximum thickness of 8mm should be deposited, normally in 2 layers. However, CC31 can also give excellent performance in a single layer. The weld metal will crack readily. CC31 is suitable for wear plate production, hoppers, shovels, dragline buckets, dredge pump castings and crusher rolls.
